Battery Cooling Circuit
The proper thermal management of the battery pack is a crucial aspect, on which not only the efficiency and duration of the batteries but also the safety of the whole system depend.
The components of the refrigeration circuit such as cooling plates, chillers and hoses, which are operated either with a water-glycol mixture or with refrigerant gas from the AC system of the vehicle, must first of all be tested to verify their perfect sealing.
Leak proofing of these systems is usually requested because the cooling of the batteries must be guaranteed in the long term and, moreover, leakage of the cooling medium could lead to short-circuits.
Depending on the type of component and the testing specifications, Marposs proposes different leak testing techniques, from tests with air pressure decay or mass flow, to helium in an accumulation chamber or vacuum chamber. For testing of fully assembled cooling circuit, direct tracing of refrigerant gas is also possible.
Upon request, these leak testing applications can then be implemented into fully automatic lines, which integrate assembly, measurement and visual control operations. The transversal skills in different technologies make Marposs the ideal partner for the supply of integrated solutions for the assembly, measurement and testing of these components.
