MARPOSS RE-ELECTED TO THE EXECUTIVE BOARD OF THE CMM CLUB ITALIA

Mr. Alberto Zaffagnini, the engineer responsible for the Metrology Lab in Marposs SpA, has been re-elected for the third consecutive time to the executive board of the CMM Club Italia. He has served on the board since its inception.
Mr. Zaffagnini is also responsible for the editorial activities of the association and has been editor-in-chief of the "Probing" newsletter since its first issue.

The CMM Club Italia is a no-profit organization. It gathers users, service providers, universities, researchers and CMM (coordinate measuring machine) manufacturers and operates under the patronage and scientific guidance of the Istituto di Metrologia "Gustavo Colonnetti" (IMGC) of CNR (Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche).
The scope of the association is to develop and expand culture in the field of coordinate measuring machines and metrology in general. The association participates in numerous activities including training, information, standardization activities of ISO and UNI, meeting and seminar organization, and cooperative efforts with similar associations and national and international institutes.
The CMM Club also provides training and certification of CMM operators, and the Club has established the relevant technical regulations for these programs. Two Marposs engineers, Mr. Franco Danielli and Mr. Alberto Zaffagnini, have passed the first session of certification for level 3 experts, based on their experience already acquired. This is the highest rank for certification and at that time only five persons in Italy got this level.

Marposs, as a founder on the first team that generated the current association, is actively present in several programs. They warrant a provision of timely information on standards developments in the CMM field, a continuous comparison and dialog with the major national experts in the CMM field, a sharing of experiences among manufacturers, users and researchers.
The cultural growth and technological transfer coming from this participation allows Marposs to be continuously updated on state of the art activities within the CMM world. This information is indispensable to the fundamental activity of measuring the reference standards used for zero-setting and calibration of Marposs manufactured equipment.
