Marposs has developed a new series of manual forks that are equipped with Eddy Current Sensors for the Non Destructive Test of the Material Integrity and Material Structure.
The tests are related to:
- Case Depth Test on each mains and pins after the grinding operation
The test is performed through a low frequency Eddy Current sensor that checks the case depth of the part.
The test can also be performed in dynamic mode in order to verify if the case depth is constant over 360°. The part will be rejected if, during the part revolution, the hardness depth will exceed the minimum lower limit set on the amplifier.
For the dynamic inspection the fork is mounted on a mechanical fixture and the test cycle is performed automatically.
The electronic unit will dispaly graphically all the data related to the hardness depth. - Material integrity test performed on the diameters and shoulders of each mains and pins
The test is performed by dedicated sensors that can completely inspect all the required surface.
The presence of cracks and grinding burns is detected by the ND sensors and displaied on the electronic E70s after one part revolution.
Like in the previous case the fork is mounted on a mechanical fixture and the test cycle is performed automatically.
