NEW TBD NON-CONTACT TOOL BREAKAGE DETECTOR AT IMTS 2010

 

Marposs introduces its new “TBD”, non-contact tool breakage detector, at IMTS 2010.

The TBD has been conceived to verify tool presence or breakage under machining condition, in the fastest and most reliable way.
The compact design, made in a unique device, and the small dimension of the system permits quick and easy installation also outside of the working area, saving space on the table.
The electronic interface is integrated inside TBD and a very simple wiring to machine is foreseen.

In spite of very low price the device is equipped with powerful elaboration unit that guarantees high performance also in presence of coolant.
TBD works by laser beam triangulation: the laser beam is projected on tool surface, normally at tool breakage tolerance, and the light reflected is captured by high sensitive receiver.
