Self-configuring multi-step robotic workflows: SeConRob project has started!

Marposs is proud to be one of the partners of SeConRobSelf-configuring multi-step robotic work-flows an EU project part of  AI, Data and Robotics for Industry optimisation (including production and services) with 3.6M€ of total fundings.

The project, coordinated by PROFACTOR GMBH, is currently working on techniques for robotic process self-configuration, in which each manufacturing stage is dependent on the results of previous steps to enhance efficiency and conserve energy and resources.
The reworking of premium components frequently involves configurations that depend on the results of prior inspection stages. Information is transferred from the previous stage (such as inspection) to the next step (such as rework) by human specialists who frequently interpret the inspection results and perform the necessary modifications.
The automation of these processes is currently hindered by the need to program the robot for each specific part, which is not technologically or economically feasible using the current technologies available.
SeConRob technologies are being developed to automate multi-stage manufacturing processes that involve inspection, gauging, welding, grinding, and polishing. Seamless automation will be possible with the configuration of robotic processes for each part.

The project involves two use cases one at Otto Fuchs and the other where Marposs is involved at Safemetal factory for the crack control using Eddy Current probes appropriately integrated into the control system to be created by the academic institutions
