QUICK BLOCK QB1000 FOR CHALLENGING MEASUREMENT APPLICATIONS AT IMTS 2010

Marposs introduced its Quick Block QB1000 compact block gauge with dual ball bushings for superior drive motion at IMTS 2010. The new QB1000 block gauge is suitable for measurements of diameters, grooves, small shoulders and for all cases where a sensor in the axial position cannot be used.

The QB1000 is available in two versions:

• as a complete single measuring unit with built-in transducer
• as a simple mechanical transmission, for use with all types of pencil probes

The new QB1000 features the same overall dimensions of the current versions, with +/- 1mm and +/- 2.5mm measuring range, and is totally compatible with existing measuring accessories like probes and standard contact fingers. The QB1000 incorporates variable spring pressures and an optional air cylinder provides pneumatic actuation.

Metrological performances are excellent, especially the repeatability due to the absence of any radial clearance in the moving part. The smooth linear motion is robust, extending the capability of the product and making it suitable for use even in extreme conditions where, for example, 60mm long fingers, can introduce measuring forces perpendicular to the measuring direction.
