Marposs ULTRA WIDEBAND TECHNOLOGY: no interference for the highest process quality

The main purpose of touch probing systems is to optimise the production process of machine tools, by increasing both quality and quantity: automatic detection of the position of the machine axes provides advantages in terms of part positioning and checking, directly within the machining centre and milling machines. Where cable routing is not possible, the probe must be mounted directly on the spindle: in such a configuration, the touch information is sent to the machine CNC by a wireless connection. This wireless transmission usually consists of a radio signal based on the 2.4 GHz band, common to the standard Wi-Fi network.

In recent years, there has been an exponential increase in Wi-Fi devices within production plants, not only smartphones, tablets, and modems, but also automatic lifts and other handling systems. This leads to a saturation of the 2.4 GHz band with the inevitable presence of noise and interferenceaffecting the reliability of wireless probing systems, causing downtime, and, more generally, decreasing the quality of the production process.

NEW MARPOSS PROBING SYSTEM WITH ULTRA WIDEBAND TECHNOLOGY

Marposs – constantly seeking new technologies to meet the increasingly demanding requirements of the market – can offer something more. Marposs Ultra Probing System is the new touch probing system with Ultra Wideband technology, a real revolution for the machine tool industry. Thanks to Ultra Wideband technology, Marposs can place itself at a higher transmission level than the standard, offering a new solution that is unrivaled in performance and reliability.

WHAT’S NEW

The most important feature, which is the main benefit introduced by Marposs Ultra Probing System, is the use of a different transmission range: in the Ultra Wideband, no other physical signals can interfere with the Marposs device, which means no interference and no machine downtimes.

But there is more! The system also introduces many improvements in its design:

  • ANCHOR, the receiving antenna with an ultra-compact design that makes installation easier and faster. It also features 3 LED indicators.
  • NEW-GENERATION CONNECTOR: The anchor is connected to the machine's CNC via a wired cable. In all systems, the connection is a weak point due to the tightness in a wet area that depends on proper mounting, then directly on the operator's ability.
Marposs Ultra Probing System introduces a new generation of wireless connectors with an extreme level of water tightness due to its design, which does not depend on external operations.
  • The new Marposs APP – which allows real-time monitoring of system status, combined with diagnostic and service operations – makes the System quick and easy to use.
