The "Mario Possati" Memorial Fellowship, which Unindustria Bologna and Marposs S.p.A. together have been endowing with an East European qualified student of SAIS Europe at Bologna since the middle of the 1990's, was assigned this year to András Oláh, 25 years old. András Oláh  obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies from Eötvös Loránd University, Hungary, 2014. He graduated at the top of his class with Honors after he was consistently the highest-ranked student during his program. He received the prize for the best thesis of the BA international studies program in the academic year of 2013/2014. For the academic year of 2012/2013 he was selected by his faculty to be the student who represents his university at one of their best partner university, the renowned Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po Paris) through the Erasmus program. Here, beside of achieving several top class results, he has been awarded with a certificate with Summa Cum Laude distinction, after completing an entire academic year. He has also obtained invaluable professional experience by working as the personal assistant of the current Chairman of the UN Secretary General's Advisory Committee on Disarmament and Former Hungarian NATO Ambassador István Gyarmati at his institute, the International Centre for Democratic transition for a year and a half.

András Oláh main academic interests focus on the EU's foreign relations, Transatlantic relations, and European Atlantic security in particular, with a special focus on the post-soviet region. His passion for Europe and Euro-Atlantic security comes from his life experience. As a child of the first free generation born after the transition into democracy in Hungary, he has always regarded it with outmost importance that the "walls" of the past that separated his parent's and grandparent's generation from the free world must never return.

At SAIS he would like to concentrate on European and Eurasian studies with a focus on Russia and Eurasia to prepare him for a career in the field of public policy dealing with political and security issues of the region and the wider Euro-Atlantic area. After graduating he is primarily interested in working either for the Euro-Atlantic organizations, such as the EU's External Action Service, NATO, the OSCE; or for think-tanks active in the field.

András Oláh speaks English and French and is learning Russian at SAIS.

The Memorial Fellowship dedicated to the founder of Marposs was formally handed out at The Johns Hopkins University, SAIS Europe at Bologna on February 17, 2016.  The ceremony was hosted by the Director Michael G. Plummer and attended by Sonia Bonfiglioli and Tiziana Ferrari (Vice-President and Director General of Unindustria Bologna respectively) and Stefano Possati, Edoardo Possati, Alberto Possati and Francesco Possati.
