GEAR TEETH HARDNESS INSPECTION BY EDDY CURRENT

The hardness inspection of gear teeth with non destructive methods has been a major concern to all the transmission manufacturers.
Marposs is now able to propose a simple and reliable mechanical system where the gears are easily loaded and correctly referred before being tested. The integrated eddy current sensor is able to detect the correct tooth hardness because of its special design and accurate and repeatitive testing positions.Through a manual stepping of the gear all teeth can be tested by the E.C. probe.

The E59N will display in a clear way the test result, with all good data spread in the green area while the data classified as scrap are identified in red colour outside that area.
