NOTHING NEW IN THIS PIECE OF NEWS!

Marposs is the world leader in measurement technology. And it's not hard to understand why. In addition to providing the most technically advanced solutions available today, we frequently hear reports of machines that are still going strong after twenty years or more.

On a job for Guthrie Machine in 1970, Marposs installed its swingdown gauges on two Norton grinders. Guthrie Machine is a southeastern-based company whose clients include Dupont, Owens Corning and Goodyear.

Thirty years later, the same equipment is still hard at work. In fact, the Guthries estimate that several million parts have been processed over the decades, with average tolerances of .0005 in. This figure is even more impressive when you consider that from 1970 to 2000, these grinders were in operation for eight to ten hours per day, six days a week. Furthermore, employees claim that during those thirty years, the machines never required service due to gauge downtime.
