Part Scanning on Grinder
The combination of technical know-how in the contact gauging field and touch technology produced the new G25 probe, able not only to perform continuous scans of surfaces, but also to give a skip signal for part positioning and checking. The probe's strong points include compact dimensions, stability and extreme gauging speed, allowing a considerable reduction in cycle times compared with traditional point-by-point scanning applications. The product was developed for gauging on grinding machines or machining centres, whose serial production cycles require part checks in the machine, if necessary allowing reworking without new positioning.

There are countless applications for a scanning probe. Generally being able to check each single part in the machine and compare it with a reference master is a considerable advantage in reducing cycle times. This applies to applications for grinding gears and for analysing and checking generic splines on work centres. Gear grinding application.
- Scanning and touch function uses a single probe
- Part check and positioning in the machine
- Simplification of methods for checking parts and consequent reduction of cycle times
- Post-process check without having to remove the part from the machine
There are three bundles for connecting the G25 probe:
-
Standard edition – analogue output voltage proportional to the movement of the stylus and skip for the part touch
The P32 interface provides an analogue output and a skip signal. The sensitivity of the analogue output can be adjusted using a trimmer on the front panel. There are 3 LED indicator lamps, green, yellow and red indicating respectively correct connection and power supply, probe touch and alarm signals. The output can be used to install a remote LED touch signal in a different part of the machine
-
Digital edition – with USB output and skip signal, that can be connected to a PC or directly to the NC
The USB interface of the G25 Digital Interface application can provide a skip signal to an external device after having reached a set threshold, and acquire and process the measurement signal
-
Wireless edition
